Another Jacobean hall with a very beautiful walled garden. The house dates from 1600’s and has original paintings and furniture in from 200 years ago when one of the owners did a world tour. The original owner was Thomas Windham, and stayed in the family for 4 générations till apparently “mad” Windhams wife spent the fortune and it had to be sold. Bought by the Kettans in 1863 and given to national trust in 1969. We enjoyed an 8 km walk and a picnic in the beautiful walled garden.
After a short rest and tea we set off to visit Ange and enjoyed some fallow deer on the way.
