Start of the goodbye meals and a lovely walk round l’Absie.

1 November is a bank holiday for All Saints Day in France when we were invited to a lovely meal including home made fois gras and aperitif de noix with Christiane and Hervé at le Beugnon. Walk around their park in between showers where they have planted 9000 trees

Thursday evening we were invited out to Fontenay to eat with Dominique and Dede Chartier, a home made poitiron soup, fish stew and my chocolate cake for pudding. On the way we managed to sign the mandate at the notaries for la Châtaigneraie and drop off the Sosh live box at Orange which had been waiting for 18 months!

Saturday 6 November we enjoyed an 11 km walk round l’Absie and enjoyed beautiful autumn colours in the forest and two amazing toadstools as well as learning some local history as l’Absie seems to have been a focal point for the resistance in the second world war.
