Up early for breakfast so that Zo could take us on a walking tour of middle Tana at 8. This hotel allowed us a set amount for the breakfast but even billed for a slice of butter! Lots of steps on the walk so Helen chose to put her foot up.
We stopped infront of the offices of the president.
We also watched some people playing one of the national games called fanoran. It seems à bit like chess.
We looked at the Louvre hôtel apparently designed by Eiffel
Then we went back to pick up Helen and the bags and went for a drive through the upper town to see the view.
We drove passed the queens palace
And the kings palace
We also saw many people going about their lives and alot of traffic!
Zo decided we had time to go and look at à housing project in Akamasua lead by père pedro over the last 40 years, an argentinian catholic missionary. He has gradually set up 6 towns to get people off the streets. An amazing mission.
The people can pay 5000 Ar per month for 12 months for a house which then becomes their along as they abide by the rules of working, curfew at 9 and attending church! Once a month on the first friday they get together to pray in the large open théâtre they have built
So many more photos I could put up about this interesting town that Zo has kindly shown us round. Here are the two oldest houses in the town
But finally we headed off to the airport and got through security with no problems so its now time to say goodbye to this beautiful country and its lovely people and especially our amazing driver and guide, Zo.
