Beautiful 11 km walk round Rochefort starting from the pont transbordeur, the original way to cross the charente until around 1950. 3 euros return crossing on electric bridge with an interesting little museum the other side. Walked round the maritime quarter and the royal corderie where cords of 200m long were wound in a building 300m long. Sadly Hermione wasn’t there today. Apparently she’s at Bayonne at the moment.
