We went north from Glasgow on Saturday through some lovely highland countryside and found a lovely spot to camp by loch Achtriochtan.
Unfortunately the rain set in and we had a very wet and windy night! Next morning when the rain eased off for 5 minutes we nipped into Glencoe visitors centre with an interesting turf house.
Back to the caravan to wait for the weather to improve. Meanwhile we watched at least 10 coaches stop for a quick photos stop. These were some of the drivers I chatted to!
Then we set off to explore Glen Etive, where Skyfall was filmed. Several miles of a single track road through beautiful scenery. A breathtaking and fun experience. We even saw some deer!
During the rainy night and morning we had time to plan and realise that wind and rain were the order of the day for the next fornight at least and there was next to no hope of there being any Northern Lights or the weather appropriate to see them. So the plans changed! That dream can wait!
So back we went to loch Lomond passing the beautiful highland moors again to find a place less windy and even sunny! But only for today! Never mind we have a lovely spot to relax in for tomorrow till winds die down and we set off for Tattenhall, Chester on Tuesday!
