Lovely 16 km walk from the campsite into the Marais salante and then up towards the North of the island along the beach. Click here to see a GPX recording of the walk.
Set off early to avoid the sun but the weather was perfect for walking. Lovely reflections on the water and many new birds to us: avocets, redshanks, black winged stilts, black necked stilts, ruddy turnstones and some black ducks we are still trying to identify. Then onto the beach again heading north.
And finally a walk back through the forest and beside the sea with lots of rabbits on the dunes and sandpipers playing in the sea. Back to the caravan intime for lunch and the sun came out!
