Today was mainly a driving day, though not as long as others have been.
The drive took us to onto a huge plateau in the middle of Mada at about 1000 metres above sea level.

This is the home of the Bara tribe who farm the Zébu cows that we see everywhere.
The views were stunning.

We stopped in a village for a short picnic and bought some peanut brittle from the locals which was lovely. 5 pieces for 1000 Ar ( 40p).

We arrived at our destination at about 2.30pm.
We stopped off at the guides’office to meet our guide and plan our walk for tomorrow morning.

Then we settled into our rooms at Camp Catta and then went for a swim in the camp pool.

Camp Catta takes its name from the ring tailed Lemurs that are found here even in the hotel grounds whose proper name is the Catta Lemur.

This camp is an “ecolodge” so there is only electricity from 6pm to 10pm, and only 2 hours per day of internet access. However, the bar is always open!
