So next morning we went to explore Colchester having booked with just parking to park on a drive near the castle park. We followed a tour of the walls and enjoyed a comprehensive historical walk!
The walk also visited St Botolphs priory
We seemed to pass an incredible number of hairdressers and barbers, maybe more than 20 alot on Isaacs Street! An intriguing place!
So on to a very exciting appointment to meet a friend I made when I was 14 on CYFA camps and who had messaged ne on Facebook the day before as she knew we were nearby. Probably 15 years since we had last crossed paths briefly. How great to have the time and possibility to renew old friendships. Lovely to share a coffee and see your pad Marie.
So we headed back to Hill farm campsite, bought some veggies from the 82 year old owner and set off for a new campsite near Ipswich which had a shower and electricity! Low house touring caravan site. All for £14! On the way we visited Flatford mill and learned about where Constable got his inspiration though it was raining so we didnt stay long! Very beautiful though.
