Set off early at 7 am from our lovely little campsite at the Jays, Flixton to go to the RSPB site at Bempton cliffs about 25 minutes drive. Parked up and sneaked down a back path to join lots of twitchers with long lenses watching the birds. Our first viewing station we were lucky enough to have a close view of a puffin who stayed nearby for ten minutes which was lovely. Such a cute funny little bird and very pretty.
We saw lots of guillemots and a few with chicks, razorbills and gannets which we learned changed colour as they got older
So back to the visitors centre to meet up with Anne and John Koko who live nearby in Scarborough. Good catch up and another explore to try and find the Albatross but it was staying hidden today
And so on to Flanborough cliffs which were very spectacular and even provided an ice cream van which sold us an ice cream David could eat! Very happy David! And an even happier Sue as we saw lots more puffins!
The noise of the sea birds was particularly loud in the natural amphitheatre of cliffs called Breil Nook. We also saw razorbills, a shag, and a little meadow pippet singing in the grass at the top of the cliffs.
So back to the caravan for a chat to Isaac about buying flats and Matt about his boiler and we booked our next campsite before relaxing over a nice curry.
