Deer, Moulins, gorges, and bridges in the Alzou valley

Set off at 9 from the campsite for a lovely 17 km circular walk along the Alzou valley to Moulin de Saut. Started off of course with the still breathtaking views of Rocamadour, but only after seeing two deer on the campsite track. After the steep climb down into Rocamadour, then a step climb up to the other side of the valley and along a rather long track eventually reaching Moulin de Saut where the walk started to get very interesting. Picnic time first though! Click here to access a GPX recording of the walk.

The next stretch asking the Alzou valley was along the gr 6 and very exciting walking. The river bed was dry for long stretches though and the waterfall was completely dry.

Passed at least three more Moulins and lovely bridges. Time for another rest and millionaires shortbread!

Final stretch back to Rocamadour with lots of wild flowers and then the long climb back up to the campsite.
